UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Secures Three Awards at UB Halal Metric Awards 2026

UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has once again demonstrated its leadership in advancing the halal ecosystem by earning three prestigious accolades at the UB Halal Metric Awards 2026. The event took place on May 5, 2026, at the Auditorium Algoritma, Faculty of Computer Science (FILKOM), Universitas Brawijaya.

Competing within the category of Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI), UIN Sunan Kalijaga ranked among the top performers out of 50 participating institutions nationwide. The university’s achievements include:

  • 2nd Place in the Policy Indicator
  • 3rd Place in the Education Indicator
  • 3rd Place in the Research & Community Service Indicator

These recognitions highlight the university’s sustained commitment to building a comprehensive and integrated halal ecosystem, encompassing institutional policy, academic programs, research initiatives, and community engagement.

The awards were received by Dr. Diky Faqih Maulana, who represented the university at the ceremony. He currently serves as Secretary of the Halal Center at UIN Sunan Kalijaga and Head of the Halal Product Process Assistance Institution (LP3H) of the university.

In addition to the institutional achievements, Dr. Diky also earned individual recognition by winning the Silver Award in the Scientific Poster Competition. His work, titled “Transforming the Concept of Halal in Indonesia: From Theological to Sociological and Political Dimensions,” was acknowledged for its insightful analysis of the evolving meaning of halal within Indonesia’s socio-legal and policy landscape.

Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Diky emphasized that the awards reflect a collective effort across the university community. He noted that UIN Sunan Kalijaga remains committed to strengthening its role as a key driver in the development of Indonesia’s halal industry through academic excellence, impactful research, and meaningful public service.

The UB Halal Metric Awards serve as a national benchmarking platform to assess and recognize universities for their contributions to halal development across multiple dimensions, including governance, education, research, and societal impact.
