Halal Center Involved in BAPPENAS Integrated MSME Management Major Project

On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, the BPJPH (Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency), in collaboration with the Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN)/BAPPENAS and the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (through the Sleman Regency Cooperative and SME Office), held an event titled the BAPPENAS Integrated MSME Management Major Project focusing on Halal Product Assurance Development.

The event, held at the Crystal Lotus Hotel, featured several speakers, including representatives from BAPPENAS, the Sleman Regency Cooperative and SME Office, the LP3H (Halal Product Assurance Organizing Institute) of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, and the Halal Task Force of the DIY Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

BAPPENAS presented its program regarding development priorities for MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), particularly in the DIY Province, which is known as a culinary tourism destination with a wide variety of products. This makes the region a key focus of the integrated MSME management major project.

The Head of the Sleman Regency Cooperative and SME Office warmly welcomed the guests from Jakarta and emphasized the vital role of the Office in supporting MSMEs in DIY, especially in Sleman. To date, the office has facilitated various training and assistance programs through collaboration with local stakeholders. The Head of the DIY Halal Task Force also fully supported the collaborative program, stressing its importance in accelerating the government's Halal certification initiative.

The LP3H of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta provided guidance and solutions for various issues faced by business owners. To ensure comprehensive support, Halal Product Assistance (PPH) Facilitators were also present to help resolve technical problems experienced by the entrepreneurs, ranging from issues related to the Business Identification Number (NIB) to the SIHALAL system.

The event was attended by 25 business owners in Sleman, predominantly those producing processed dairy commodities. These producers will be guided by the PPH Facilitators to overcome technical problems, enabling them to submit their applications and ultimately obtain Halal Certificates for each of their products.
