Pioneer of the KHAS Zone in DIY
UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta received recognition for its achievement as the pioneer of theKHAS Zone (Halal, Safe, and Healthy Culinary)in D.I. Yogyakarta and the first within the State Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) environment. This award was presented by the National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS) during the grand eventSEMESTA FEST 2024(Sharia Economy and Digital Finance Celebration) organized by the Bank Indonesia Representative Office of D.I. Yogyakarta (BI DIY) at the Atrium of Pakuwon Mall Yogyakarta.
The KHAS Zone at the SUKA Halal Foodcourt UIN Sunan Kalijaga was established thanks to cooperation and collaboration with various related institutions. This strategic partnership involvedBI DIY, which provided full funding to meet the Hygiene and Sanitation Eligibility criteria, andPT. Pegadaian, which contributed full funding for the Halal Certification under the Regular Scheme through the Halal Examination Institute (LPH) UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Therefore, special thanks are extended to BI DIY and PT. Pegadaian for the stimulation and support provided.
Dr. Imelda Fajriyati, M.Si, Director of the Halal Center UIN Sunan Kalijaga, stated that her team continues to work hard to maintain the sustainability of this KHAS Zone. On the other hand,Galuh Tri Pambekti, S.E.I., M.E.K., CRMP, Coordinator of the UIN Sunan Kalijaga KHAS Zone Program, also ensured that all preparations were well executed, successfully launching the KHAS Zone during the SEMESTA FEST 2024 event.
The highest appreciation is extended to theRector of UIN Sunan Kalijagafor the full support that provided inspiration and encouragement for the creation of this KHAS Zone. Thanks are also given toIbu Hj. Fatma Amilia, M.Si, Head of the Business Development Center (PPB) UIN Sunan Kalijaga, as the initiator behind the birth of the Suka Halal Foodcourt UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Furthermore, thanks go to theSleman Regency Health Officefor providing Food Safety training, andLabkesda Sleman Regencyfor ensuring all products meet food safety criteria through laboratory testing.
Appreciation is conveyed to allBusiness Actors in the SUKA Halal Foodcourt, enabling the SUKA Halal Foodcourt to successfully become the first KHAS Zone in D.I. Yogyakarta and the first within the PTKIN environment.
