Monitoring and Evaluation of Halal Product Process Facilitators in North Maluku

The Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) activity for the Halal Product Process (PPH) Facilitators was officially held in North Maluku Province onApril 26, 2025. This event is part of efforts to enhance the effectiveness of Halal certification implementation in the region.

The activity was attended by two representatives from the Halal Center UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta:Ibu Dwi OtikandIbu Kharisa Rachmi Khoirunisa. Also present was UIN Sunan Kalijaga PPH Facilitator,Bu Wiwit Wahyuni, who actively assists in the Halal certification process for business actors in the area.

A total of10 business actorsfrom Ternate City participated in the activity. They discussed firsthand the constraints and challenges faced during the Halal certification process for their products.

The discussion session revealed that one of the main problems in Ternate is theminimal number of PPH facilitators. This limits information and access for business actors to the Halal certification process, ultimately slowing down their efforts to meet Halal product standards.

Ibu Dwi Otik stated that the Halal Center UIN Sunan Kalijaga is committed to continuously expanding the facilitator network and increasing human resource capacity in areas outside Java, including North Maluku. "We hope this activity serves as a starting point for strengthening the Halal facilitation system in the eastern region of Indonesia," she said.

This Monev activity is expected to encourage synergy among assisting institutions, business actors, and local governments for the acceleration of the national Halal certification program, as mandated by the Halal Product Assurance regulations in Indonesia.
